Rova HMC design director

David Rova, an architectural designer with more than 20 years of experience in 16 countries, has been named director of design for HMC Architects.

Rova's design experience spans a broad range of project types with specific expertise in college and university projects.

Rova's recent work includes design for the University of California, San Diego, Rady School of Management; the University of California, Irvine, Center for Real Estate at the Paul Merage School of Business; Palomar Community College Industrial Technology Building; and two new schools for the San Ysidro School District.


Williams promoted to senior VP

Kent Williams, regional manager of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services' San Diego office, has been promoted to senior vice president.

Williams joined Marcus & Millichap in 1991 as an agent in the Ontario office. In 1997, he was named senior associate, became sales manager of the San Diego office in 1998, and was promoted to regional manager in 1999.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Williams was as vice president of a professional musician's supply company in the Midwest.

Aaron Bove has been named to vice president of investments with Marcus & Millichap.

Bove began his career with Marcus & Millichap in 2001, specializing in the sale of multi-family properties.


Sawaya hired by RSI Roofing

Chris Sawaya, has been hired by RSI Roofing of San Diego.

Sawaya, who has worked for 22 years in the roofing industry, started his career at Aztec Roofing where he was a laborer, second man, foreman and then was promoted to the sales team.


Johnson & Jennings hires superintendent

Gunnar Waage has been hired as a project superintendent with Johnson & Jennings General Contracting.

With more than 40 years in the construction industry, Waage has extensive experience in ground-up office, manufacturing, retail and lab facilities.

Prior employment includes approximately three years at Staples Construction, three years at Ledcor Petty Construction Co. and seven years at R.G. Petty Construction Co. Waage also worked as a carpenter and project supervisor for 25 years in New York City.


PCL Construction hires senior estimator

Randy Andrus has joined PCL Construction Services Inc. as a senior estimator.

He has 37 years of construction experience in Southern California.

In his new role with PCL, Andrus will be responsible for pre-construction and estimating services for PCL's public and private clients.


Agostini awarded for excellence

James A. Agostini with Community Risk Management Inc. in San Diego has been awarded the "Excellence in Service Award" by the California Association of Community Managers.

Agostini won the award for his efforts to educate and assist community management firms with serious risk issues and potential financial threats.
